FRASERS X

The Jes Foord Foundation Handbag Project

DSC03575.jpg

Frasers, synonymous with being a specialist retailer for quality branded luggage and leather goods joined forces with The Jes Foord Foundation on The Handbag Project in 2013.

The Handbag Project was started by Jessica Foord after being a victim of rape in 2008. Jessica, not wanting to let this traumatic experience define her, started The Handbag Project to help rape victims.

This serves to provide a rape victim with a handbag (used or new) containing personal items that can assist during the initial reporting process at the police station. Frasers, being the leading retailer in handbags, saw it fitting to partner with the Jes Foord foundation in this project.

Items that go in to the handbag include, a facecloth, soap, new underwear, deodorant or roll on etc. These are ‘comfort’ items to assist a victim after going through the processes of being checked for forensic evidence. Those donating are encouraged to add a note of comfort in this trying time.

Frasers, will once again be collecting new or used handbags for The Handbag Project this Women’s month.

Join us as we endeavour to make a difference in our country and our home, South Africa.
