Hennessy V.S.O.P gets make-over

This Month (November) South Africa unveiled the redesigned Hennessy V.S.O.P, as it enters a new era under the eye of the American designer Chris Bangle, a legendary figure in the automobile world who has redesigned the contours to bring its sleek silhouette firmly into the future.

 

“Designing for Hennessy gave me the same sensations as working on designs for fast BMWs or a great Rolls Royce. It is that experience of a unique emotion,” commented Chris Bangle.

 

While the Hennessy V.S.O.P blend has remained unchanged, the new bottle has strengthened its distinction by stretching its silhouette upward. This upward movement, supported by an enriched base resembling a pedestal, has also made the bottle more functional, by including a hollow bottom for easier handling.

 

The geometry of the new design attracts one’s eye toward the top of the bottle, where Bangle chose to emboss the legendary arm and axe of the Hennessy family into the glass itself. The main label has also not been forgotten, refined with a shimmering gloss covered by clusters of grapes and vine leaves, a subliminal reminder of the origins of the cognac.

 

Presented in a regal palette of gold, red and black, the redesigned Hennessy V.S.O.P will be available nationwide from November 2012.
