South Africa’s best beauty and nail salon, SOHO, has added to its growing list of accolades after being named the 2012 “Nail Salon of the Year at the prestigious Professional Beauty Industry Awards ceremony held recently at Scarlet Ribbon.

The Professional Beauty Industry Awards are the most prestigious awards for the beauty, nails, skincare, body treatment, tanning and spa industries, recognising those who make a real difference to the industry and encouraging their development. These awards are not only dedicated to rewarding beauty professionals who are making a marked difference in the industry, but have also been established to help uplift the standards of the industry and provide worthwhile publicity, both locally and abroad, creating greater consumer interest.

Brushing aside competition from industry heavyweights, Gloss Nail & Beauty and Dream Nails-Cavendish to the top prize, SOHO has firmly established itself as the beauty and nail salon of choice for the discerning individual that demands only the best treatments, using the best products at the best location.

Since opening its doors only last year, New York-inspired SOHO, the brainchild of Ethiopian born entrepreneur Getty Gizaw, has been offering unique beauty services as well as beauty care and retail items only found in the hip, chic and avant-garde Soho neighbrhood of New York City. SOHO brings those items directly to Johannesburg  making New York City style accessible to all.

“Winning this prestigious award is simply incredible, it is testImony of the hard work we put in everyday at SOHO in order to be the best. This award will serve as motivation for us to keep striving to reach new heights and innovating to stay ahead of the competition”, said Gizaw.

With exclusive décor that includes state-of-the-art manicure tables, pedicure chairs, waxing rooms and free Wi-Fi for customers, plus convenient trading hours; it is hardly surprising that SOHO has earned this accolade and signs are that they are not slowing down anytime soon.
